Urgently... Ebola drug is used for covid19
The U.S. is considering
Ebola drug to treat coronavirus patients.
A study conducted by
the US national institute of health suggests that the drug could improve the
chances of survival for every coronavirus patient by as much as 30 percent.
As it could also speed up recovery up to
just 11 days.
The drug is made by Gilead sciences and the
company’s chief executive Daniel O’ Day met with the president in the oval
office.
The drug is also believed to treat 140.000 coronavirus
patients in the UK by the end of May and has been described by UK’s chief
scientific advisor Sir Patrick Vallance as “Promising”.
Interest in the remdesivir has been
high as there is no vaccine for the virus currently.
Gilead said on Wednesday the drug had
helped improve outcomes for patients with covid19, the respiratory disease
caused by the novel coronavirus.
